PCOD

PCOD Treatment in Erandwane/Karvenagar

PCOD (Polycystic Ovarian Disease) is currently a big problem for a large number of young females in India. PCOD is a disease that affects a large number of young adults since it hits at a young age. This is a common endocrine disease that affects 5-10% of reproductive-age women and has no recognised aetiology. People of all ages, from 18 to 45, are affected by PCOD. Young people must be aware of the disease’s progression, as well as the causes and long-term effects.

Causes of PCOD

PCOD’s cause is currently unknown. However, there is evidence of a link between PCOD and low-grade inflammation, excess insulin, excessive production of male hormones (Hyperandrogenism), and heredity. Variables like early menarche, an unhealthy lifestyle, and pollution can all affect PCOD.

PCOD Signs and Symptoms

Following are the Polycystic Ovarian Disorder symptoms:

-Periods that occur every two to three months are unreliable (amenorrhea)
-Bleeding profusely (Menorrhagia)
-Unusual hair growth on the body and on the face (hirsutism)
-Acne does not respond to regular treatments. An overabundance of testosterone in the peripheral nerve system causes this.
-Uncontrolled weight gain, particularly around the waist
-Darkening or pigmentation of the skin around the neck (Acanthosis nigricans)
-Infertility
-Male-pattern baldness is a type of baldness that affects men.
-Headaches

Pregnancy and PCOD

When PCOD is in control, getting pregnant is not a problem. However, infertility experts believe that poor illness control would necessitate drugs or assisted reproductive technology (ART).

It’s also worth noting that women with PCOD have a reduced ovarian capacity, which makes it difficult for them to generate quality eggs. If they desire children, they should choose an early pregnancy because the quality of the eggs deteriorates with age.
